Mong came to be known as Meng, Miao, Hmong, Hmu, Mao, Meo, Amao, AHmu, Amo and other similar names. Hei Miao, Hua Miao, Bai Miao, Green Miao, Black Miao, White Miao, White Hmong, Green Hmong, Blue Hmong, Red Miao, Hong Miao, and so forth are mostly referred to Mong today. Mong/Hmong today is genetically mixed with other original Miao tribes. Miao and Mong were not the same until after the Yuan Dynasty. West Hmong China, Hmong Yunnan, Middle and West Guizhou Miao, West Guangxi Miao, Hmong Vietnam, Hmong Laos, Hmong Thai, Hmong France, Hmong Australia, Hmong Burma, Hmong USA, Hmong Europe, Hmong Guinea and other places are all Mong.
